Our Conductor
Darrell Davison won the Barbirolli Conducting Prize in 1979, since when he has conducted all the major London orchestras and recorded with the BBC and London Symphony Orchestras.
Darrell is Director of the very popular Arthur Davison Family Concerts at the Fairfield Halls, Croydon. As a composer, he has had works performed by the Philharmonia and London Philharmonic Orchestras and has written and orchestrated film scores for the LSO.
Darrell has been at the helm of the SSO for more than 25 years, and under his guidance we have tackled increasingly ambitious programmes which have been warmly received.
