![]() Orchestral Concert - 7.30pm - 18-05-2008Spring SerenadeThe second of our subscription concerts will open with Bizet's joyful Symphony in C, full of lovely tunes and with a particularly vivacious finale. The first half of the concert will conclude with the delightful Oboe Concerto by Richard Strauss. This was written in Strauss's 'Indian Summer' towards the end of his life, when his style returned somewhat to that of his youth. The demanding solo part will be played by Suzanne Thorn, who has been studying at the Royal Academy of Music, and who has received a number of awards and prizes. After Elgar's charming Serenade for Strings the concert will conclude with Mendelssohn's captivating fourth Symphony - the 'Italian'. This concert will take place in Walthamstow School (in the main shool hall, not the Ship Theatre). more events... | Upcoming eventsOrchestral Concert
