Stag latest - 29-08-2008

At its meeting on 28th August 2008 the SDC Cabinet voted to continue to try and get the Stag re-opened based on different proposals being developed by Sevenoaks Town Council and by Kent County Council.

They also voted not to appoint anyone to run the theatre in the interim - hence the need to move our final concert of 2008.

A timetable was put forward at the meeting which shows a decision by the SDC Cabinet due on 23rd October, with the full Council voting on it soon afterwards. The Cabinet also voted to extend the timetable if there wasn't enough information available on 23rd October to make a sound decision. The timetable is tight (the hope is that the Stag can be reopened in January) and any delay could well jeopardise our concert in February - so we will make precautionary bookings elsewhere.
